A class list has to be formatted as a CSV file — the easiest way to do this is in Google Sheets. (If you don’t have access to Google Sheets, contact me and I’ll help you.)

The first column of the spreadsheet should be the student’s name. Put it into the sheet in this format: Last Name comma space First Name.

The second column of the spreadsheet should contain the matching email addresses.

In Google Sheets, give the file a useful name — something like “Trig, Spring 2025”. Then in the File menu, choose Download, and then “Comma Separated Values (csv)”. This will download your data from Google Sheets to your local hard drive.

On your computer, find the file you just downloaded — on Windows, it will be in the Downloads folder. The file name might contain “Sheet 1” — if so, you can edit the file name and remove that part.

Back on stratocumul.us, choose to upload a class list. Pick the file from your local hard drive, and upload it.

The upload is fast. When it is done, go back to the Tasks page. Use “View a Class List” to verify that the list looks how you want it to look.
